I'm a passionate fanfic reader (in the Harry Potter fandom) and possibly will post some recs of good pieces of fanfiction. I read a big amount of slash and smut, recommendations of this kind will have a warning, so if you're underage or grossed out by relationships between men don't read them. (And please don't insult me for liking them.)

Everybody who wants to can friend me, but it would be nice if you left a comment somewhere and let me know who you are. Otherwise I can't guarantee to friend you back.

So, I guess the Skins-Friending Meme was a success and people found new friends who are interested in the same things. Yay for Skins-Love!

I want to welcome ___mardybum, arrivee, packsofreasons and tortoisesoup to my journal, I hope you enjoy your stay and don't get bored to much from my rants and ramblings.

Yesterday I finally switched my account to the Plus-account. I actually only wanted to install a Skins-moodtheme (by lovebit) and then switch bach, because I heard the moodtheme would stay then. But I found out that the advertisements aren't so bad and don't bother me much.
Plus, now I have 9 additional icons!!! That's so amazing because I always had a hard time choosing icons, 6 just were not enough. *does a happy dance and looks at her 15 pretty icons*

Now I'll come to the rec. Today I read The Lodger by mad_martha. (You can find her fic masterlist here) It was a really good read, despite one thing that usually bugs me about PG-13 fics. There was a lot of build-up and UST (which I love) but when it came to the point were the characters get intimate the author jumped over this stuff and didn't describe it at all.

It was quite unsatisfying to read about Harry inviting Draco to his bed and then in the next part they already have an established relationship. I'm not (only) complaining about that because I'm a pervert who wants to read The Smut. Imo it's important to describe all parts of a relationship (also the intimate ones) because otherwise the reader (in this case me) feels left out. I want to read about the whole development from roommates to lovers and follow them each step on the way, that's why I don't like jumping forward in time (Wieso gibt es im Englischen kein Wort für Zeitsprung????).

That's also why I prefer to read NC-17 fics *g*. I'll go read the other fics from the Lodger-Series now, because the author is a really good writer.
